Laminin이란?

Laminin은 기저막의 한 부분인 basal lamina의 주요 단백질로, 조직의 유지 및 생존에 필수적입니다.

대부분의 laminin은 높은 세포 특이성을 나타내며, isoform의 조합이 제대로 형성되어 있지 않으면 세포와 조직이 기능을 하지 않게 됩니다.

각 laminin의 isoform은 각각 5개, 4개, 3개의 유전적으로 구별되는 변이체로 존재하는 3개의 coiled chain (alpha, beta, gamma chain)으로 구성됩니다.

Laminin isoform은 coiled chain의 구성에 따라 명명됩니다. 예를 들어 α5 chain, β2 chain, γ1 chain의 조합은 laminin 5-2-1 (LN521)을 형성합니다. 삼량체 단백질은 다른 ECM 및 다양한 세포막 수용체에 결합할 수 있는 십자형 구조를 형성합니다.
