- 단백질 S(PROS1)은 당단백질로 응고, 세포자멸사, 암발달 및 진행 선천성 면역반응을 포함하는 여러 생물학적 과정에 관련되어 있으며, S1에 결합하는 알려진 receptor는 ACE2, angiotensin-converting enzyme 2, DPP4, CEACAM 등입니다.
- 코로나바이러스의 Spike (S) glycoprotein은 감염과정시 숙주세포에 바이러스가 결합하는데 필수적인 것으로 알려져 있습니다.
- Spike 단백질은 S1과 S2라는 두개의 소단위를 포함하는 type I transmembrane protein 으로, S1은 주로 세포 표면 수용체를 인식하는 역할을 하는 수용체 결합 도메인 (Receptor binding domain, RBD)를 포함하고 S2는 막 융합에 필요한 기본요소를 포함합니다. S 단백질은 중화항체 및 T 세포 반응 유도, 보호 면역에 중요한 역할을 합니다.
- Omicron variant (오미크론 변이)는 WHO에 보고된 후 variant of concern (VOC)로 지정될 만큼 전염성이 강한 변이체로, Delta 변이에 비해 두배 이상의 강한 전파력을 가지고 있습니다.
- 오미크론 변이 spike protein은 mutation, deletion, insertion등 약 30개 amino acid에 변화가 있으며 이로인해 전파력, 면역 저항성, 항체치료제에 대한 내성을 유발합니다.
