Whole Human Serum (#0855979)

• DESCRIPTION: Product is whole human serum and buffer salts.
• The serum is delipidated, dialyzed into 0.02M sodium phosphate, 0.14M sodium chloride, pH 7.3, filtered through a 0.22 µm filter, vialed and lyophilized.
• USES: This product is suitable for use as a serum protein control in immunoelectrophoresis, Ouchterlony immunodiffusion, and other immunoprecipitation techniques. It may also be used as a blocking agent in fluorescence and enzyme immunoassays.
• SPECIFICATIONS: The total protein is measured using the Biuret procedure, with bovine albumin as the standard. The product gives a spectrum of normal serum precipitin arcs when tested by immunoelectrophoresis with anti-human serum.
• RECONSTITUTION: Reconstitute product with 2.0 ml of deionized or distilled water. Gentle swirling may be used to speed rehydration. Avoid vigorous shaking of the reconstituted material.

Normal/Pre-immune Control Human Serum (#NHUS)

• Description : A healthy non-immunized population of Humans (Adult, mixed sex) was used to collect serum. Unless specified otherwise, this preparation is not sterile. 
• Form and Storage : The normal Human serum is provided as liquid and 0.1% sodium azide as preservative or in lyophilized form. The lyophilized products should be dissolved in PBS, pH 7.4 to bring it to original volume. Centrifuge the solution briefly (10,000 g, 15 min) to remove any particulate matter. It should be aliquoted and stored frozen for long term use.
• Suggested Uses : This preparation of normal Human serum is suitable for controls or as samples in a given immunoassay or to serve as non-immune serum control for various primary antiserum. It may not be an ideal negative control for all primary antibodies as it is preferred to use the serum from the same Human before any immunization. Control Human serum should be diluted the same way as the primary antiserum. It may also be used to pre-treat the antibody beads during the immunoprecipitation to suppress non-specific adsorption of primary antibodies. Another use could be to use it as –ve control in ELISA for various primary antibodies, for which no pre-immune is available.
